If Imitation is the highest form of flattery then in worship we celebrate the design, beauty and love of God. The origins of the word ‘Worship’ has its source as being ‘worth’ + ‘ship’ or basically, to ascribe value. So anybody can worship Him. Paul the Apostle wrote:
‘whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.’ Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
It is a call to mimic, to follow the example of Paul as he mimics Jesus. We believe that God is worthy of our time, our praise, our adoration and worth copying. Here are some submissions by the church looking to God, the author of all life, in creative worship.
