City of Peace meets every Sunday in Canary Wharf College at 11am. We understand coming to a service can be a strange thing, especially if you’ve never been before. Our service is a relaxed environment and we come in all shapes and sizes from all sorts of different backgrounds. If you’re interested in the Christian faith, then you can always stop by Café Forever during the week because a number of staff attend the Sunday Service. If you’re fearful of what to do, how to act or what to say, then don’t be. Our service is very user friendly no matter your faith background and we’ll walk you through every step of the morning, so that you don’t feel like an outsider.
Generally most people arrive right around 11am. If you come a bit early, you’re welcome to get a tea or coffee before the service starts. The first 30 minutes of the service includes a range of songs and prayers appropriate for all ages. A crèche area is provided for infants and toddlers (0-3yrs of age) for the whole service, if needed. After the singing and prayers, we have a Sunday school programme for children between the ages of 4-11 years of age, while teenagers and adults listen to a relevant Bible talk. After the service people generally stick around for tea, coffee, and biscuits.
Dress: Come as you are. We’re a pretty casual bunch!
Teaching: A passage from the Bible is read and clearly explained in order that anyone, no matter their faith or background, might understand it. Our hope is to connect spiritual teaching from the Bible to everyday life experiences.
Music: Generally one or two musicians and singers lead in modern songs and hymns while also including prayers and Bible readings.
Travel:
- By Public transport–the Mudchute DLR is our closest station. The D3 and D7 buses pass by Canary Wharf College.
- By Car—if you’re driving there is some parking around Canary Wharf College, but this is limited.
